Camille Roussel

I'm Camille Roussel, a 2D artist based in Angoulême, France. I work on character design, backgrounds and traditional animation for series, short films and children's publishing.

My work almost always starts with light: I look for the value and the mood of a shot first, colour comes next, and line last. I like narrow palettes, clean silhouettes and backgrounds that leave room for a character to move.

Trained at ÉMCA, I have been working with French and European studios since 2019, in a team or on my own. I'm always glad to hear about collaborations, talks or workshops.
